I would have to go with Alabaster on this one.  No one shaves the barber as the barber is a woman.

the point goes to alabaster, the barber was indeed a woman for she was the only one with the permit to shave people, and since women (generally) don't grow beards (i did say generally), she was not affected, but if a man were to be the barber, he'd got to jail because if he'd shave himself, he'd break the law, and someone else with a shaving permit must do it for him

    question #9 (1 point)

i'm want a new house to be custom built, so i get a building company to build it for me, the only problem for them is that i want all of my windows facing south, where would they build my house at?

Sounds like gggg's got it. If you built your house on the North Pole, all of your windows would technically be pointing South (I think). Why you would want to live on the North Pole is beyond me.....21.gif

Isn't that a play? The unladen swallow? 2.gif

I think it is 43 wing-beats per second. That play was funny.

What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
(at which point you reply Huh? I don't know that! and are cast into the Gorge of Eternal Peril)

Shall I take the point now, or do you want to repeat the entire scene from the Holy Grail? 1.gif

Apparently, after some research , it turns out that the real speed is around 24mph, but that's not what you wanted, is it? ;-)

esc it was a trick question, i was refering to the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which chriscf got right, well done44.gif and yes, please play the scene again3.gif

question #11 (3 points maximum)* (another easy question3.gif)

i am stranded at sea. i have a large supply of food but no water, yet i need water to survive, and i can't drink the sea water (salty water makes someone dehydrated) yet i surivived for say 60 days, how did i survive despite the water shortage (note, the food doesn't contain water)

*there may be numerous ways i obtained fresh water, and i've tought of 3 methods of how to obtain fresh water, the points will only be given if they are identical to the methods in my head, however, bonus points may be given if you can think of another method which produces fresh water

Yes it is spelled 'dew' but I don't think you would want to lick that off the side of your boat.

Another answer could be that another person with a huge water supply was stranded too but with no food and when you and him found each other, you joined together and shared. Mabye?

Slowhand that's one of the three answers, one point
gggg i won't accept dew, like what Eastwinn said, who would wanna lick a side of a boat18.gif i'll think about giving a point to you though
Eastwinn its a possibiltiy, but i'm not too sure if i'll accept that, i'll think about it though

clue for the other 2 answers

these methods involve a scientific method of extracting pure water, but one is more of a last resort

the last 2 points go to gggg as you can cleani the salt water with the right tools... also pee14.gif the only reason why i put that as a possible answer is that i seen it in Brainiac and the film Waterworld or something like that

Rymac91 you're right as well, but gggg got it before you did, sorry

I'm thinking Downtown Los Angeles, if Gary Jules is anything to go by.

That would be both points, yes?

While we're waiting for question 13...

An answer to question 11... same concept as boiling water... according to Captain Cook, if you take a cake of frozen sea-water, and you thaw it out, it's pure water... same essential concept as boiling it...
