adding lanes to a freeway?

Is there a plugin or anything to upload for Simcity Rushhour that will give me the ability to add more lanes to a freeway? Currently in NAM you can add more on a highway, but not for a freeway (freeways, such as interstates) as far as mine goes. Just hoping someone may have the trick that they could share with me....

Several notes:

- We use a universal term to refer to highway, freeway, expressway, interstate, and dual carriageway: Highway. Under the umbrella of SC4 transit modding, they're all the same exact thing and we call it the same exact thing. (It reduces confusion that way and it makes things more uniform.)

- The only mod that does what you're looking for is called RealHighway. There's no way to do the same with the default highways. (Oh, and for the record, these "highways", not the default ones, are multi-purpose.)

- Don't you think you're asking this in the wrong section? This section is for the "new Simcity", not SC4. (If you're not referring to SC4, then I don't think you'd get much help...)

I guess I need to know what do you mean, freeway and highways?. In the NAM, there is the RHW and it can be added from 1 lane to 5 lanes in each direction...

The Maxis highways are 3 lanes each way and nothing short of EA letting go of the .exe's will change that...

You sure? http://sc4devotion.c...p?topic=15238.0 The picture below is the same exact network:

(For the record, this plugin reduces the number of lanes from 6 to 4, and it ain't out yet.)

That image just looks like RHW4 to me. It could be used to replace the standard maxis 6-lane highway, however unless it adds starter pieces and/or puzzle pieces (as RHW already does) then it could not run alongside it.

Spoderman, pls.

That "RHW-4" IS the Maxis Highway, which is the point I'm making: You don't have to even do anything to the EXE to do anything to the MHWs.

I believe that is Project Symphony. Although I am not a NAM member, I think the purpose is to create a retexture that has the user friendliness of the MHW but the connectivity of the RHW RealHighway). It will hopefully get more newbies onto the RealHighway.

Symphony is a heck of a lot more than just a Retexture. We're making new model sets, pathfiles and puzzle pieces for it based on ones made for the RHW. In fact, I think Symphony only contains a single texture file of its own (The Elevated Avenue to ESymphony one), the rest are grabbed from your RHW installation.

My bad, not the best word to use. If it's a retexture, how could the lane capacity drop from 6 to 4 without repathing? :P

Pathing does nothing to capacity; In fact, lane count is absolutely irrelevant. You'll wanna tinker with the Traffic Simulator.

This is from our dev discussions on PS: In order to rebalance MHW capacities to account for the lane reduction (take into account that the current MHW capacity is 50% greater than that of RHW), MHW and EMHW capacities will be reduced by a sixth. If you take the full width of the current MHW itself (six lanes), it's like taking just one lane away. This means PS highways will have a very slight capacity boost over standard RHW, but it won't pose that big of an impact for those who don't want to use PS. (You can thank or blame Z1 for that.)

Oh, and can a retexture build roundabout interchanges?
