Quick Map Question

Hey guys just a quick question.

All the custom maps I've ever downloaded always have a little graphics glitch on the bottom of the city map in the regions mod.

ie in regions mod the south border of all maps looks like it incomplete, you see the background through it. But in all photos I've seen of the custom regions online don't have this. I was just wondering about this, it's not a huge issue, just something the gnaws at you. Any solution? In the past I have built on this area of the map. (In city mod the map is fine) The buildings appear in region but the error is still there.

Is this common? Anyways to fix it?

This may be the high-resolution rendering bug. If a map is rendered at a resolution of 1200 px vertical or more you get these funny spaces. You can fix your region view by changing your screen resolution to something less than that then opening and saving each city that has this problem. You can then return to high res.

Cool so go through save at like 800x600 then switch back to 16?

Simple enough and it won't break the cities I have in another region! Cool, I was wondering what the issue was, and that is a simple enough fix.

Just tried it, problem solved, only one more question.

If I switch back to 16x12 and save will this occur again? Or should this fix it permenately.

Crud don't bother answering it switched right back.

That is a colossal bummer, oh well.

    Thanks for the 1411 Moose!

Hmmm, I can solve this issue running at 1280. That's not to bad.

So anyone else who has this issue drop down one res to 1280 and it works just fine! Yay!

As long as your vertical resolution (1024x768, 1920x1080) is less than 1200 when you render the region, you can switch back to normal resolution after it renders and it should be fine. So delete the region folder, set the resolution down, render it, and set the resolution back.

What do you do with the ones that don't use grayscale?

In other words the map I'm playing on now, Houston all Large Tile, you have to use SC4mapper. How might I do this for this map?

And thanks I will re-render the ones with grayscale tonight as I hit the hay.

Any ideas on how to solve this issue with maps requiring Mapper or Terra?

    G'Day Slyguy,

You can render any mapper or terra imported regions with any of these resolutions either in window or full screen and not get missing strips:

    800x600; 1024x768; 1280x1024; 1280x800; 1280x960; 1366x768; 1400x1050; 1600x900; 1600x1024; 1680x945; 1680x1050; 1920x1080.

Unfortunately the piece de resistance 2048x1152 will not open in a window and in full screen exhibits the missing strips of terrain.

    Cheers
