Patience is a virtue... Could be just a slow day... As for your issue, I am assuming you are trying to render an existing map? Mapper isn't used to create new maps from scratch. For that you would need SC4Terraformer.

Regarding Mapper, does the problem occur on all maps or just some? Do you have the .dll file mentioned here? Also, there is a mini-patch that was released to solve an issue with certain config files - large maps I think.

What is the issue - wrong terrain, tile size? Could be a height mod issue, maybe. What map are you trying? It's rare, but there could be a problem with the map files.

well when i opened the map it was at first all white, it was suppose to be a few islands but it just turned out to be a mass of flat land and a small lake are that was it

Okay, I think I understand what's happening... This is a Terraformer map and it uses a .SC4M file (not sure what the Nissuto Island .png file is to be used for). When you run Mapper and select Create Region, you need to then select the SC4M option (not the greyscale option) and navigate to the Nissuto file. This will render the map in the Mapper colors, and it appeared to come out correctly when I tried it.

Edit: It seems the creator tried to create a greyscale image that could be used also, but it may not be the correct properties for game use. When I used it I got the same results you did - all white with the lake.

That download contains a comprehensive, step by step readme file. Instead of blundering around, the OP could have tried reading it.
