But when I plop them and save, the underlying tile turns blue or black. I know it's an old MOD but I love the way the trees look, and I'd like to figure out how to fix them. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

To move back to god mode to plant trees just press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+<click the god icon>. You can plant trees to your heart's content without difficulty.

If you want specialist trees, there are some newer ones on the STEX and the other exchanges that may please you, and don't have any problems.

The problem is despite their initial transparent appearance, the lots still hold a 'blank' base texture - reflecting their old age indeed. To revolve this, open the lots in the Reader and delete the lines that start with 0x00000002.

If you don't know how to use the LE or perhaps can't figure out the problem, let me know and I'll send you the fixed files. I have these lots too and I use them often also. ;)

Open the .sc4LOT file with notepad?

Don't do that ! You must downloaded the Lot Editor first and then, open the Lot Editor and scroll down until you find the lot that you want to change. After that, you can do everything you want with the lot and save it before exit (if you like the result of your own relotting).

No I didn't. I applied a green grass to the base texture, and it's still happening.

You can indeed install base textures in the LE. You just have to learn to use it. It was there way before any of the other tools, and for a while, it was the only way to make a new lot by overhauling an existing one, base textures and all.

OK, I htink I got it. It made updated files so I deleted the old originals, and it seems to be good to go. Thanks!

Is there an easy way to manipulate the monthly cost of these parks so it's 0?

Is there an easy way to manipulate the monthly cost of these parks so it's 0?

    Open the Reader.

    - scroll down on the left side and find the word "Exemplar". Click on it once. There are two of them, one has the

"Budget Item: Cost". (the first one in the line)

    - Again click on it once, a new window opens.

    - The number under values, probably underligned in green when opened and has something like: 0x000000000A or 0x00000000000010

    - delete it completely and enter the number "0"

    - then click on "APPLY" on the bottom and before exiting save the file. (not save as, because that will create a new file, but just save, because this will overwrite the file that you openened.

    No more expenses.... ;)

    Hope that helps,

    mrb

MRB, the READER is far too complicated for me. Maybe we could get on the phone or something and try to figure it out?
