I've now attempted to make 3 posts today, but due to silly server settings they all fail to post....

It's not just you. Something similar just happened to me. Tried to post a new thread, but got a message stating the browser was trying to connect to the Simtropolis server. Then it took me back to the main forum, but my post didn't show up.

Sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating it can be to type a lot of stuff, only to lose it all because it gets zapped into cyber la-la land. A number of years ago, after losing a really long email I had typed out in my email client, I started typing everything in Wordpad first and then copied it. (OR, if posting in a message forum, I typed it out and then copied it first before hitting "Post".) I then pasted it online and tried to send/submit it first before deleting the Wordpad file. That way if something happened, like what happened today, I could just recopy/repaste it and try again. It was a lesson I learned the hard way.

Dirktator, does it mean WE are infected by something? Should we check our own computers to see if they are involved in an attack?

How about some sympathy for Dirk, et. al. I'm sure they're scrambling trying to deal with the problem. Hopefully, they won't pull all their hair out.

There are always @#!$$# hackers who think it is funny to try an mess up sites. Ours must have emerged above the radar to be attacked by these fools. All they succeed in doing is mess up the world for everyone as government after government seeks to put hooks on the Internet, which is one of the few really free communication services on the planet. It is infuriating, and Dirk and Co. need to be congratulated and stroked considering with what they put up.

Blessings on our staff and curses on the hacking idiots. Hackers should all get a life. Go play in the traffic.
