downloaded files keep coming in as pdf-file

my downloaded files from Simtropolis keep coming in as pdf ??

I did something wrong to have incoming files to be opened as pdf... But how do I restore it back to normal ??

And most of all to what extension does the download need to be changed ??

When you click on 'Download' do you get the option to 'Open'/'Save to...'? If you do, click the 'Save to...' option and designate where you want it saved (Desktop is always a safe bet as it makes it easy to find). When done downloading (it should be either a .rar, .zip or .7zip file) right-click on it and select 'Extract All...' and then 'Next' and then 'Next' again. Your file should uncompress to the desktop as well.

To fix the file association problem use Windows Explorer (just click on any file on your system). On the top bar click on Tools and then 'Folder Options...'. Click the 'File Types' tab. Scroll to the bottom to 'ZIP'. If it doesn't say 'Compressed (zipped) Folders' click the 'Change' button. If you're lucky, under 'Recommended Programs:' it will say: 'Compressed (zipped) Folders'. Select that option by clicking it once and then be sure that 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' option is checked. Click 'OK' then 'Close'.
