Disappearing trains

Here's a mystery: how come in just one of my cities, train use has fallen to zero and all the trains have disappeared? Trains are still operating in neighbouring cities, rail links are still in place etc. but zilch. The little green test trains are even whizzing around, but no actual passenger or freight trains.

Can anyone help???

Check your route query operator to see how the Sims are getting to work. You may have to cut a few roads.

I tried bothe these things - i totally cut off a part of the city except rail - and they went jobless rather than use the train. I've tried the train in UDrive, and that works fine. It's just really weird. Any more ideas?

The thing that raises its ugly head here is that your routes in the residential don't lead to the rail stations (you may not have enough rail stations) and/or the rail system doesn't have any way for workers to get from the stations in the work area to the job (buses, for example).

Download the 'Extra Cheats .dll' add it to your plugins (right under the Plugins header), and use the command 'drawpaths' to see what the pathfinder is doing. This is reversed with 'hidepaths'.
