The main point of this project is to make the maxis lots better looking and more realistic. I will be keeping the original maxis buildings but improving the eye-sore lots they are on; meaning that there are going to be quite a bit of dependencies but I am aiming to use less than my previous attempts.

I tried starting this project a while ago but then my sister ruined our computer files. I re-started it, but then i found myself going nowhere and then we got a new computer, now I wanted a fresh new start and I am trying it again for the third time and hopefully it will be unhindered and completed.

I am going to mod the rewards lots, civic lots, RCI lots, and maybe some landmark lots. I will also make additional utility, recreation, and transportation lots, but their capacities will not be altered; this project is meant for eye-candy. On a side note the trees will also be seasonal

I will gladly take any constructive criticism and answer questions as best as I can.

Important: This mod will not be compatible with older cities because lot sizes will be changed and if those cities are loaded, the lots could interfere with each other and could wreak havoc.

With that all said I will start with some rewards:

Mayor's House - I wanted a different building than the mayor's house but it was tough to find one that hid it and didn't clip the mayor's house as bad, you can still see parts of the house though. The empty grass spaces on the sides of th patio have the fireworks effects:

Stock Exchange- I tried to make this lot fit better in an urban setting:

I will post some more pictures as I finish working on some of the lots.

Ooh... looks very interesting. :D

Very good use of props there, though I was wondering how many dependencies did you use?

1994: I am glad to see you are interested int this project! Between those two lots and others I am currently working on, 4.There are quite a bit of dependencies but they are going to be used on all of my re-lots: all 500+ RCI lots, rewards, and additional civics and parks. Also, I mostly chose the more common dependencies so most people should already have them if they downloaded many things.

Here is a list of the dependencies I am using for every re-lot:

    Mikeseith's and automata(new instances)

    SG Mega Props (registration required)

XD's parking lot starter kit (registration required)

    XD's parking lot textures (^)

Gizmo's Vehicle packs (no registration required; just click the download button on the bottom of the blue box)

    For the Industrial Re-lots:

Here is a few more I have done:

    Court house:

    courthouse.jpg

    City Hall Phase 1:

    cityhallstage1.jpg

City Hall Phases 2&3- As the building grew larger, the fewer options I had to improve:

    cityhallstages23.jpg

    Mayor's Statues 1&2:

    sstatues12.jpg

    Mayor's Statues 3&4:

    sstatues34.jpg

I am not going to re-lot the Bureau of Bureaucracy since the whole building is the lot and there is no need to improve it.

Also, I am planning on using all of these lots in my first release, what do you think? I am open to ideas and suggestions.

I like this reworking. A good relotting can amke a BIG difference! Three or four suggestions on future work. The mayor's statues could be placed in front of the City Halls. Also, on the City Halls, since they face two streets, I would like to see a plaza or entry on the back sides. I would also like to see the mayors' statues as round-about fillers.

Your relots are very nice. If it wasn't that I am working on a project to replace all Rewards by my own lots, using all kinds of buildings, I'd use your set. The lots are convincing and nice.

A tip: In the mayor's house you plop the prop of the villa over the original model of the mayor's house. Right? You can do this differently by editing the building file: in the RKT property you can replace the TGI of the model by any other TGI of any model.

And for the three stages of the city hall you need the MrTruesage mod. Did you know that?

FrankU: Thanks for the advice and bringing that point about the Mr.Truesage mod! I just used the building plop cheat to build those other city hall phases, but I will recommend the other mod.

burnzie_16: I updated the file to a .zip format, try downloading it again, it should work now.

I have two more re-lots for my next pack, the business deal rewards:

    casinow.jpg

Army Base - the open areas by the barracks have the military jumping jacks effect:

    armybase.jpg

    Toxic Waste Dump:

    toxicwastedump.jpg

    Area 5.1:

    area51l.jpg

When I place this lot, those UDI jets bounce back and forth, then stop in the middle, does anyone know how to fix that? So far the only answer seems to be re-loading the city.

    Hello 3dpuzzlemaster

...having troubles...for some reason the city hall lots -all phases, do not function -show up, as the default maxis continues to show up, as I am unable to locate the lots via the 'buggi cheat', can't 'plop' 'em to see... nicer looking lots though, the other reward lots seem to work ok.. its a nice project worth continuing...
