Need help altering config.

this is driving me CRAZY! i downloaded this map:

and then i redid the config.bmp and loaded the city but only the cities that lined up with the original config are showing up.

i cannot play with only large maps. i have searched the forums and found a few topics that are not helping me figure this out.

how do i get a custom map my to recognize my custom config.bmp file?

You will always have to edit the config file to your liking before importing it into the game. Since this is a .SC4M file, you will have to edit the config file before loading the region into Terraformer / Mapper.

How to edit the config.bmp to your liking using SC4 Terraformer:

1. Create a blank region of the same size as the map you downloaded (32x42 small cities according to the description). Just enter a name for the region and the size. It is very important not to import the .SC4M file at this time!
   
2. After the region is created, exit Terraformer and go to the folder of the region you have created. It should contain nothing but the config.bmp. You may now edit this file to your liking.
   
3. Re-open Terraformer and select the newly created region. Select the "Global tools" tab on the left tool window, and then select "Import Image". Select the .SC4M file you downloaded, and then press OK (the scale factor does not need to be changed).
   

You should now have the region with a config of your choosing. I don't know if this can be done with the Mapper though since I've never gotten that program to work.
