Hi everyone, i am new here, i hope someone can help me. I have a Macbook Air, running Lion, its only 3 months old. I recently purchased SimCity 4 Edition Deluxe and i have an external disc drive (the Apple one). When i put the disc in it says that PowerPC applications are no longer supported!! So i can't play the game??

I'd be really grateful if anyone can tell me how and if i can get it working.

Thank you! x

No, you can't play the game straight off the disc. All MacBook Airs have Intel chips, and Lion will not run older PowerPC-only applications. See the links below for more information on how to make the game work (albeit not 100% perfect).

Link 2: SimCity 4 Universal Binary Beta (not supported but should just about work)

You will not be able to install Sim City 4 on your Mac, The installer is a PowerPC application.

The only way you would have been able to install it would have been able to play on lion would have been to install it while you were still running Snow Leopard.

I use Lion, and I used the patch to run SC4. but unfortunately, you are out of luck (unless there is some sort of patched installer available)(which might be "illegal")

well considering that the mac book air has the intel CPU, there for its possible to do a dual boot mac/windows, of course there may be some hardware issues however
