Ireland (State of Eire) is not part of the U.K. Only some of the Northern Counties. Scotland can do as it likes, but what's the point? The North Sea oil?

At the time of the Act of Union, who benefited? Before that were not the Scottish ports shut out of international trade? Did not the Scottish style of architecture become the main design in much of the City of London. Was it not Scots who were instrumental in some of the most important advances in engineering?

There has been a lot of mutual benefit. Isn't it about time for the Scots to forget the '45 and stop pining for that Frenchified poltroon?
