Rotating/Flipping A Map

If anyone can help me on this subject, I just downloaded a region and I am not completely satisfied with it. The terrain and everything is fine, I just want to rotate the map. I tried many ways to and all it does is screw the terrain up. Is there any possible way to rotate the map without changing the terrain levels? If so, please help me out on this.

Hello nicebutevil91,

There's no relation between elevations values and map's orientation : you can do almost everything you want (rotating, croping...).

Before going further, is your original map file in a ".SC4M" format ? Or a greyscale picture ?

The file is an SC4M. I know if it was a greyscale, it would be a lot easier.

Ok then !

You need :

- SC4 Mapper

- a image software editor which handles the 16-bit depth color (Photoshop)

I would do this :

- open SC4 Mapper and create a new region, using the SC4M file you have downloaded

- save this region and exit SC4 Mapper

- open again SC4 Mapper and load the region you've just saved

- click on "Export region" and save it as a 16-bit PNG file

- exit Mapper again

- open the 16-bit PNG picture in Photoshop and rotate it as you like, but keep unchanged the dimensions of the map !

- save the modified picture

- open Mapper and click on "Create region"

- click on "16 bit PNG image"

- pick the freshly saved PNG picture and click OK

- pick the config file (the original one would do the trick)

- press OK

- Mapper will load your modified picture and you only have to save the new region
