SC4 Terraformer Issues

    I must be missing something here... not sure how I'm supposed to be able to work with greyscale images in sc4terraformer when there is barely any difference between how the program reads max depth water and sea level. This is what I get when I save a png of the fairview region in sc4 terraformer...

    A 16-bit map will always look that way : very dark.

    What do you exactly want to do with that map ?

    That was just an example, not doing anything with that map specifically. I was under the impression you could somehow use greyscale images to create terrains in that program, but if they have to be that dark in order to work, it seems virtually impossible...

    Actually, it's possible in an easy way with 8-bit greyscale map, meaning a 256 greyscale value file.

    Lurking around the Omnibus might give you some tips about that...

    With 16bit greyscales, water occupies only 3.5% of the grey palette of 65536 shades. With 8bit greys water occupies 33% of the 256 shades of grey. That is the reason they are very dark
