Heroes of Might and Magic is a trun-based fantasy/magic-themed strategy series. The first game in the series was released in 1995, and the latest addition to the series, HoMM VI was released in October 2011. Here's the Wikipedia page for more info.

HoMM has been one of my favorite game series throughout my gaming life. I've only played HoMM III and a little bit of IV, but I plan to play V and the relatively new VI at some point. I love the graphics of III, especially, (I love older graphics) but the gameplay is equally great.

Has anyone else played any games from the series? If so, what do you think?

Heroes of Might and Magic, is definately one of the best series ever, music-wise, and gameplay-wise. I started playing HoMM III when it was released in 2000, back then it was ok to have only one disk for a lan-play. Then I moved and years later I found a Homm III + IV for sale. Many people dislikes IV for being different and rushed (both the developer and publisher bankrupted shortly after), but I still think it is a good game though, so make your own decision. The music by John Romero is epic in both games though. I think Homm III has the best town music, while IV has the best battle music. Not that the battle music in III is bad though...

I also have bought the first two (wich doesnt run correctly, the music wont play) and HoMM 5, but the rebooted franchise with new world/story isn't for me, I guess..

There also is the the original Might and Magic games and even alot of MM/HoMM spinoffs, where a lot of the story spin into the others. I havent tried any of those though.
