EA use data they collect from their Origin platform to determine requirement sets for hardware. People should not be surprised that there would be a discrepancy between recommended specs and required specs by the way, that is common in the industry. What should be a factor though is that Origin data tends to be skewed quite a bit, because of the relation between volume of users and volume for type of / category of product. A disproportionally large subset of collected data for example comes from the user types which play Battlefield. The median hardware distribution sets for those types of players and that type of product is quite a bit higher than most other games. The volume however gives it more weight.

Basing decisions on that, outweights decisions based on initial scoping methods for game design. That is a reality in this industry. In many ways this is also why the Valve data sets are typically much more interesting for game developers to use for such matters because while they do take into account absolute volumes they also offset that for categories and so forth. It allows for a much more in depth analysis for what type of game is likely to receive what distribution and level of hardware for its intended goals.

I don't exactly have the best PC in the world, but it isn't that bad either. I might be upgrading at some point in the next year or so though. I would like to know for sure whether the specs they posted are Recommended, or Minimum requirements.

this is my specs but im a console gamer but I have always owned SimCity so idk much about pc specs

windows 8

AMD E-300 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.30 GHz

4 gigs of ram with 3.60 usable

64-bit OS, x64 based processor

I did find out my processor is dual core
