Hey everyone. I hope I'm posting in the right place, but creating maps on mac seems different since we can't use the sc4mapper and all. Anyway, this is my first post here. After getting hooked on simcity deluxe for iPad, i thought Id venture to the real thing and so I started recently with Simcity 4. I really like it a lot. However, before i get too involved in building my dream city, Id really love to create a region for my actual city, Savannah, Georgia. It's located on a river and the ocean and has a few large islands as well. I think it would be a really interesting region not just for me, but for anyone. Take a look at the satellite image if you aren't familiar with it.

Anyway, the purpose of this is that Id like to know how to create a greyscale image of Savannah( or any city). I have figured out how to create the config.bmp, but the greyscale I can't figure out. Its in black and white, and its 769x769...my region is 12x12...am I missing something? Not the most tech savvy but not a complete moron. I think i could figure it out with a little help.

I have photoshop, i just don't know where to get the original pic of savannah, what size it should be, how to make a good greyscale.

If anyone is interested in making one of savannah and its not too much to ask, Id greatly appreciate it, but Im more than willing to try it on my own, just need a little help.

    Thanks to all

PS-I have the region layout working in the game, but when i go to add the greyscale, nothing happens. Im sure that helps in some way...thanks again

I recall something about Tekindus having a tutorial about this. I think it's in the Omnibus. If not you can search it on google.

P.s. I found that SC4Terraformer could help you, yet not simple as in that Photoshop greyscale method: it's also in the omnibus -

    Using SC4Terraformer without SimCity4

I haven't personally tried it but I bet you could.
