Problem with automata on evening commute

Hello everyone,

So in all of my cities I've been noticing that the automata only appears on their morning commutes, all day. Even during the night they are still on their "morning" commute, which makes half of my streets seem unused because traffic never takes the route back home. Does anyone know if this is related to some part of the NAM mod, or some feature that I may have selected during installation? I want to avoid the look of people leaving the city and never coming back (even if they actually come back somehow in invisible cars or something :uhm:)

If you want evening commute, you have to switch it in the traffic display.

What do you mean by traffic display? The route querry tool or the data view on traffic?

That does not seem to have affect with how automata are displayed on the streets... My problem is that I see people driving "out" of their homes to work or out of the city, but when the time changes to night they are still going "out". I never see the traffic switch directions and go back "in" or to their homes as it should.

edit: If I use the querry tool i still see paths for the commute home, the routes home also appear with the drawpaths "cheat" but the cars arent seen actually driving it.

This doesn't affect the automata, which are supposed to correlate with the 24-hour clock.

Maybe you should try playing around with settings showing traffic. If it doesn't work try uninstalling NAM and see if this still happens. I don't think it has anything to do with the NAM.

It definitely does not, and uninstalling the NAM is not going to help. It's possible that there's a rogue automata controller in your plugins somewhere that's overriding the standard one. That's the one thing I can think of that can produce this effect.

I don't recall having downloaded any other traffic/automata controller, do you know where I might start looking? My plugins folder is huge :uhm:

i guess ill start searching then, maybe something will turn up. It better have an obvious name though.

If you're lucky, it will have the word "Automata" in it. But it might not.

Here's one of the fastest ways to find out what's causing your problem. Either use an old city with no custom content, create a new city with no custom content, or use one of the tutorial cities. Start out with your normal plugins, and verify that the problem still exists. If it does, remove half your plugins. If the problem still exists, remove half of those. If the problem disappears, replace your plugins with the group that you just removed, and remove half of them. The number of steps to get there is the log of your number of plugins, so if you have 32,000 plugins, this will take 15 steps.

Most likely, this problem is the result of a mod. You can save yourself a lot of steps if you use the above procedure only on your mods.

Okay I started to clean out my sc4, so far its NOT a plugin since the folder is now empty. I removed all of the "mods" from the mydocuments folder and the problem is gone... Now to narrow it down once i get back home again :ohyes:

edit: It really is the NAM! I guess ill have to reinstall it now since obviously something is wrong with it. I tested this with absolutely no other plugins in my simcity but NAM. It could be that my NAM is an old install and when it was updated something broke.. i dont know. Either way I will reinstall it and it should be fixed.
