I'm getting these red and green boxes everywhere in my city. Is there a way to fix this? It seems like a screen resolution thing. Also, when will my subway trains run? Will I need a certain amount of Sims?

The sims will use the subways when they need them to get to their jobs. So you could put a few subway stations near residential areas and another subway station near commercial or industrial zones. Just make sure you connect all the subways. It is very useful in places with traffic problems.

Red and Green boxes:

Could be the settings on your graphics hardware. Open your graphics control center in your operating system and make sure any options are set to "application selected" or equivalent wording. Failing that, set the game in software rendering mode from the game graphics page and restart the game.

If neither of these solutions work, post again with a full description of your machine, operating system, and the version number of the SimCity 4.exe program.
