I'e always wondered that does it have a more of a capitalistic society, socialist-communist, is it free market.

If SC4 is capitalist what capitalism does it follow; American Capitalism where the poor/rich divide is great or European where the poor/rich is gap smaller. Or does the the economy pend what its God(you) wants it to be. Good question huh?

I would say by default it would be more of a European Capitalism, by where the poor are paid little but still have enough to save for where latter on they can move up in the world. Like when you place those sims in a house after some time they move up from ether a R$ house to a R$$ home or from R$$ to R$$$.

An interesting question. I don't think any particular design is in the program. I generally consider it to be an unconstrained free system. There are no particular financial ordinances other than legalize gambling.

Then again, all infrastructure is entirely funded and built by the states, and I'm fairly sure I'm correct in asserting the existance of both Universal Education and Universal Healthcare in SC4. So I suppose it's at least European in style?

I think of it more as a dictatorship, because you are in control of everything.

You can build a school, hospital, or police/fire station anywhere you want. You can control the taxes with the press of a button (no city council or boards). You can decide whether or not you want to destroy an entire neighborhood of sims, and you can plop any building anywhere you want.

If it was any type or form of democracy it wouldn't be as fun, because then the Sims could vote whether or not they like or don't like your decisions

you are in control of everything except whether people and companies move in. like a dictator but people and companies can come and go as they please.

i find it interesting that if you lower the taxes on the high IQ $$$ (job creators) then it creates high demand for $$ businesses and workers. which in turn creates more tax flow for you. perhaps a conservative slant to the game/
