So I really want to recreate a city in SC4 and it seems impossible to import a google maps overlay into my city to base my road placements on. The only way I've heard of re-creating cities is by having SC4 in windowed mode while Google Earth is running so I was wondering how to I put SC4 (Deluxe) into Windowed Mode? (Is there an Omnibus Tutorial on this)

Right Click on the icon, go to properties, go to the shortcut tab, and add a space after the text and a -w> to the end of the target. This is what I've seen in a tutorial I read somewhere. See if this works :ducky:

    Okay- heres one

HOW TO RUN SC4 in WINDOWED MODE for windows!

excuse me if you already know this one...

    1. create a shortcut for SC4(or skip to step 2 if you already have one!)

    2. Right click, click properties,

    3. rename the Target:

add a space a dash and w to the end AFTER the " marks

    so:

    <"C:\Program Files\Maxis\Sim City 4 Deluxe\Apps\Sim City 4.exe" -w>

    for me

    4. Open Up sc4 and VOILA, its in a borderless window...

very handy for quick play, i also find it runs faster this way

    Hope this Helps.

@Jack3oh3: Does the windowed mode slow down the game?

Depends on how you have it set up and what you are running with it. You can give it quite high priority so that it almost always has a processor, or you can just let it default. Above all, DO NOT set it to real time dispatch. This will hang your system eventually. Windowed mode does add a layer of overhead.
