Trading with Omnicorp

Okay, I installed Cities XL 2012. Having some fun with it. I built a fuel city -- St. Louis -- and started building up my oil well fields. I had about 10 fuel tokens, so I traded them to Omnicorp. Instantly, my income went to over 400K! I was building hospitals, schools, and leisure on every block. St. Louis was becoming a paradise. It was like the United Arab Emirates, except even the poor workers were rich and happy.

Then I built a few more fields. And tweaked the trading to Omnicorp. I thought I was giving them more, and hoping to increase my income to 500K. But when I clicked out of the trading station, my income was negative! What the heck happened? I couldn't figure it out. I thought I tried to sell them more, but here I was losing 50K now.

What'd I do wrong? I've been trying to fix it, but nothing's working. I'm going to have to start my fuel paradise over.

What do I need to avoid in the future?

    Thanks in advance.

If you import food or water (or any token) from OmniCorp, they rip you off big time. Fuel cities work best with Heavy industry to use the fuel to produce factory goods and parts, Manufacturing Industry to make good manufacturing goods from the heavy industrial products, and waste treatment to put all the byproducts from fuel and industrial processing. You might be able to build some offices but try to keep what little executives in the middle of the map, surrounding the City Hall with tons of services and parks. Unskilled workers don't need much.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3
