Editing keyboard shortcuts

Hi, i'd like to add shortcuts to my CXL 2012, like R for a road... Can you somebody point me out where to start looking, please?

I already found code like this in \Data\Design\Script\GameEvents\KeyEvents.lua file:

But how do I catch the event of pressing 'R' instead of predefined constants or whatever VK_RETURN is?

Then, how do I find out what function to call (what pak file / lua script should i look at to find out what happens when i press a road button, or a button to create residential zone, ...)?
