Can't find Region Map

hey im trying to use some landfill eraser mod but its telling me to make a back-up of my region. but for some reason my region is not under the regions folder. where else could it be or how do i get it to come up. also on a slightly unrelated note i have an old region from before i reformatted my hard drive. how do i use it? i tried just putting it in the regions folder but that wont work

Are you sure you are in the right place? Your regions folder is in C:/<username>/documents/SimCity 4 Deluxe/Regions and not in program files, where you should keep your hands away.

oh hey that helps a lot. thanks. you said to not mess with the programs files is this with the exception of putting mods in the plugins folder? or is there a better location for them?

All downloaded custom content should go in the Documents subfolder under SimCity 4/Plugins with a sub-structure to make it easy to maintain. Nothing should be placed in the Program Files area except the sky textures that default to there. If you had multiple user ids on your machine, each one gets the stuff in the Program Files. Why would another user want some of your plugins?

Also if you reinstall the game, everything in the program files/Maxis/SimCity 4 Deluxe folder gets replaced.
