"Did I just see an inflatable snowman?"

So I was walking through Costco the other day and guess what I saw. A whole shelve full of Christmas decorations, cookies and such with Christmas trees and inflatible snowmen on top. Halloween hasn't even come into season, or arrived on, the Costconian (yes I invented a word) shelves yet. Why?!?! At least wait until Halloween passes.

An inflatable snowman? in the first week of September?

That's just wrong.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Costco always runs three months ahead on inventory. They are a wholesaler with retail pretensions, remember. You won't be able to get Christmas merchandise from them in November.

The grocery stores have halloween candy already. Which is ridiculous. Who keeps candy around the house two months ahead?

Thing that shocks me is they just skipped over Halloween, right to the snow.

No, you just missed them in July.

In this country Halloween is after Thanksgiving. (2nd Monday in October)

I'm starting to think this is a regional thing. Down here, the department stores start putting up their Christmas sections in September or October (though there has been a trend to start pushing it back some as many people complained about the ever increasing "Christmas creep"). And stores like Walmart, Target and the like aren't even starting to put up Christmas supplies yet.

A curse upon all marketeers, MBAs and other lovers of the bottom line. There will be interesting times.
