I just got a CTD with no exception report produced. I've never had one of these before, and I wondered if anyone else ever had one.

The symptoms were an epidemic of no-job zots followed by my desktop.

Here is the console trace that should have gotten a dump but didn't.

    err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x29e6

    err:eventlog:ReportEventW L"6"

    err:eventlog:ReportEventW L"7"

Now this is the usual log, but the events L"6" and L"7" are usually the start and end of the dump. It just didn't happen, or went to the great bit bucket in the sky.

The seh error is the usual windows error for a bad pointer, as usual.

I haven't done anything unusual in this program except to add a lot of PEG OWW2 plugins, yesterday. They work just fine.

I have had a few more crashes than usual lately myself. I haven't checked for error reports on them, but some of them I've had to manually crash the program through the system manager because things hung up, and didn't quite make it to the desktop. All I had was the little box saying "SimCity 4 has stopped working, Windows is searching for a solution" on my scrambled desktop image. I waited over 5 minutes, then gave the three finger salute and crashed the process tree. That has happened to me a total of three times, the last being a few days ago, before I installed another round of Window's updates.

The only other two times it's crashed since then have been normal CTDs.

I don't know if it helps or not, but it seems that it might have been caused by a problematic Windows update, and getting the next update and restarting has fixed it for me.

I had some weird crashes. Here are mine from Sunday. First it crashed when I just finished adding lodgepole pines behind my McDonald's. Then I tried to play again right after that and when I got back, I pressed the Landmarks button and it crashed. Then after I played again and saved I crashed. Then I just got 2 more random crashes after I saved.

@Ronwe: I am not running windows, so I am relatively sure it wasn't a windows update. Further, it ran immediately thereafter and did not subsequently crash this way again.
