Saw this Documentary while browsing youtubes free movies. I watched it and it was pretty interesting. Go into it with an open mind.

This biographical documentary by William Gazecki plunges into the mind and thought processes of industrial engineer and architectural designer Jacque Fresco, a man known for promulgating futuristic building designs and societal utopias based exclusively on environmental concerns and education. The program visualizes many of Fresco's concepts, courtesy of onscreen illustrations by Star Trek animator Doug Drexler.

I don't have an hour and a half to watch something where I am already convinced. I watched about half of it, but I have to go out soon. The gentleman is a polymath, and we certainly need more of them.

Some of his designs are exactly what I have demonstrated in a couple of my BAT buildings. The college of Mota and the Artesian water supply both contain geodesic domes (thanks, Bucky Fuller), and if you look at the Venus Project buildings, there are a few Fuller items there as well, but taken much further.

The point about a dome is that it is the maximum practical volume for the least surface area. In these days of environmental consciousness, one should note that the energy losses of a dome are much less than a box. When I first put up the college of Mota on the STEX the early comments were actually vituperative. The armchair BATters wanted sky-scrapers, which are not at all efficient. I will never create such a thing.

I am not only a futurist, but I am also a world federalist. All the petty jealousies of nationalism make us unfit to join any community that may or may not exist as in the Star Trek model. If humanity cannot be one, then we don't deserve to go any further. Running around planting flags is old hat.

As far as I am concerned, Columbus and the Conquistadors acted on the American continent no better than Attila tha Hun in Europe. The Roman Catholic culture at the time was as rapacious and as intolerant as any we have ever seen. We have had bad periods in our less than 10,000 years of existence as a cohesive culture, and most of them took up the lion's share of that time. We have never had an enlightened civilization, and probably never will before we are destroyed by some natural phenomenon we will have ignored until it is too late.
