Textures

Everything was working fine until I downloaded a 'Functional Airport Pack' plus few other BATs. The textures in my city got messed up. See this image:

Plaza textures appear in place of parking lots. The image on left is the university and the right is a residential building (maxis). However this doesn't happen with custom parking lots (downloaded from various websites).

I thought removing the new plugins would solve the problem. So I started deleting them one by one. After removing some texture and prop packs, the problem was solved (apparently). But when I started sc4 the next day, the problem was there again.

I changed the display settings to high (usually I set all to medium), deleted more plugins and other stuff. Sometime it worked, but the problem was again present when I restarted the game.

Finally when I set the rendering to 'software', all texture are drawn correctly (even after restarting the game multiple times). Plus the game runs much faster now.

I want to reinstall the deleted plugins, so can some friend tell me what was the problem? Were the plugins corrupted or something?

Also, whats software and hardware rendering? Whats the difference?

These are small plazas (maxis one). The light poles, fountains, hot dog stands, flowers are missing! I tried placing new ones, but they appear the same way.

Running SimCity4: Deluxe Edition, with EP1 update and tons of plugins (NAM, CAM etc)

OS: Windows XP SP3

Graphic card: Intel Express Chipset Family (I think its called that...) 128 MB with updated drivers

1.5 GB DDR2 RAM

3.0 GHz P4 Processor (2 CPU)
