lotplop/buildingplop cheat

Hi all,

I've seen reference to a lotplop or buildingplop cheat that's supposed to let you individually build any of the available buildings when you use it. I can't get it to work -- is it a built-in cheat, or do I need to download it somewhere? FYI, I'm on a Mac w/ SC4 Deluxe.

You need to download the Extra Cheeats .dll by Buggi. I think you can get it here on Simtropolis but I'm not sure, I downloaded it a long time ago.

This is a great cheat, I could not play SC4 without it since I plop everything.

Yes, I saw that one, and I already have it. Problem is, it's just not working.

You might have to place it in the program file's plugin folder instead of the My Documents one.

Also try placing it directly in plugins and not in a sub-folder.

The game has 2 separate plugin folders. One is located in My Documents, and the other in Program Files. The one in program files is located here:

C: (or whatever drive your OS is on)\Program Files\Maxis\Simcity 4 Deluxe\Plugins

*points to first post* I'm on a Mac. I have to run SC4 off a non-editable disk image, so all my plugins need to go into what I think is the equivalent of the Windows My Documents folder.

That .dll requires the Rush Hour/Deluxe program. The vanilla SimCity 4 .exe is a different program.

Erm, we all are? (at least us loyal Macintosh users!) I asked the same question a while back, but it seems .dll cheats do not work on the Mac version, so we're stuck without the wonders of the extracheats.dll

It will work on a MAC if you dump the Aspyr version, get the regular Deluxe game, and run under wine or other virtual machine. The Aspyr technology is most throughly obsolete. You need the latest OS/X version to do this.

BTW A Nonny Moose, I'm still running an old PowerPC Mac (which I'm typing at right now), so I can't enjoy the wonders of Intel Mac/PC emulation!

I've tried looking up Wine, but can't find a good guide on how to install it. I know I used it once to install DosBox (to run SC2k, in fact), but that was when it was DarWine, which now seems to be gone. Anyone have a good link?
