How can I stop the game from resetting the tutorial cities?

I built nice big cities on the sites of the tutorials and they keep getting reset.

The tutorials only get reset if you reinstall or request it. If you want to play on Timbucktu, copy it and rename it.

I never chose to reset or reinstall it.

It just suddenly reset.

Congratulations. You have documented a new bug.

If you want to play that map, copy it to a new region folder of whatever name you want, then change the name in the .ini file to agree with the folder name. This should disconnect your from the tutorial code, and you should be free to play it.

LATER: Just tried it, and it worked. Copied the files in Timbuktu to Timbuktutu and there is no tutorial attached. If you like, you can obliterate the tutorial cities without losing the terrain.

AND Further: To get rid of the tutorial coding, you have to obliterate each city. Of course you can always just exit the tutorial and play the city.

This is the best supplied region of the whole set.

Is this for real or is it sarcasm?

Are you tired of starting your region off with grassy plains? Try the new forest region HERE!: http://simcityforest.webs.com/

I never joke about bugs. I tried my solution above, and I suggest you try that. Be aware that you have to obliterate any city that you don't want the tutorial nosing into even after you do the rename. But once you isolate this in a new region name, you should be safe from resets. Mine is working fine.

Further to my post above, I had occasion to reset the Timbuktu region. My Timbuktutu region was not affected.
