How can I change the configuration of city tiles in an existing Maxis map? Or with other words, I want to take the Timbuktu region for example and change the configuration so that there are 16 city tiles of the same size, without losing the original map.

The only way that I can think of doing something like that is by using the SC4Terraformer or SC4Mapper, but I have never tryed to do something like this myself so I'm not sure if that would work or not, it should though.

Hello, thanks for your input. Finally I managed to do it with the help of Photoshop and Landscape Designer. Turned out to look pretty nice. Here is the result:

That looks nice, that has lots of potential into becoming a great city.

Well, it doesn't really look exactly like the original Timbuktu region because I messed up the gray scale a bit but I am playing the region right now and it is bridge builder's paradise. At the same time I am trying out the SPAM mod and since these are all large city tiles you got plenty of space for agriculture.

Since there is a lot of coastline I wish somebody would come with a fishing culture mod...

Thanks again for your nice comment.
