How To Build A City In A Decentralized Fashion?

    I have an idea to build my city...:idea: I want it to behaves like Los Angeles, with only 1 large Downton, 1 very large industryal section and the rest of the region being sprawling suburbia, how & what to do please, also, im interested in both positive & negative feedback on my city idea Thank Q :thumb:

    Just some more , i want my city to be linked by large highway systems, both RHW and EL Highway, is there a mod that helps with esy placement of overpasses or makes oter accesspoints for highways?

    I know that LA started with many small towns but I have a tenedency to mkae Too many connections ... HELP!!!! :bunny:

    If you want to do something like LA, you'll have to have appropriate terrain. Don't try to get it all in one city tile, but use your tiles strategically.

    The best thing to do is to find an appropriate map (or make one) and cut it up appropriately using the config.bmp file to control where the boundaries are.

    You can then start with your small towns, and connect them as needed.

    I don't think there is any easy way to drop in RHW stuff. It requires serious civil engineering. Besides, if you want to emulate the way things went for L.A., ripping apart the landscape and buildings to make room for freeways is part of the process.

    Take it slow and steady, planning all the way, and don't forget Anaheim, Azuza, and Kukamonga. These towns should be on both your rail system and your freeways. Start with a fairly small scale Google map to get oriented, then try the LA web site for historical stuff. Happy researching.

    You can build as you find things out, but be prepared to rerender your map if things don't work.
