cities backup

Hi!!!I was wondering if there's a way to backup your cities while playing the game...I mean..I hate when I play a few hours and then when i save the city and try to get to the regional view the game crashes so that you lose everything you have done ...Any suggestion?????

Hi Gugu!

Yes there's a way to backup cities, But you had had to manage to save the city at least once - [Ctrl+S] if [F8] or [F12] doesn't work -, then it would appear in your My Documents / SimCity 4 / Regions / RegionName folder with the filename being the same as you named the city. Just make a copy of this file somewhere, when you return to desktop.

If you want to backup strictly "in-game", your only method - to my knowledge - would be [Ctrl+S] that is to save the city without exiting to region, then pause game after the "game saved" dialog box, use [Alt+Esc] to go to desktop and then make the copy. Then go back to playing.

Sadly I'm not sure why your game crashes in the first place, it could be for many a reason. I'd ask the Bugs an Tech. Issues forum and I'd make sure the crash is caused only by the game first.
