I am getting ready to try a day and night mod. So far I have found only two mod's, the trunite by Simfox and one by Gizmo.

Which one would you recommend most?

Try each one separately in your sandbox and see which one you like.

Thanks for your quick reply. I actually like the the simfox version a little bit better since it's not quite as dark as the gizmo version.

Do you happen to know if I have to tear down all the replaced buildings by the darknite version before continuing playing or is good enough just to replace the files in the plugin folders?

Sorry, but there are some buildings which come in two versions, "maxisnite" or "darknite". So if I delete the "maxisnite" version and install the "darknite" version, would I have to tear the buildings down first?

This is what your sandbox is for. Holding out your new nite texture mod, build a maxis night building. Then put in your nite texture, and try the game. It should be OK, but the building may look funny. Now, swap the plugins, but do not change the building, and try again. If it goes nuts, now you know.

Testing is the soul of using plugins.

That's what I normally do but I thought why not take a shortcut sometimes and just ask here on the board.

Generally, the quickest and best answer is given by the program.
