As I was reading this week's "Miami New Times" article on Haiti's new president, suddenly the connection between Lou Bega and Michel Martelly popped up. If you ever wondered how would a character similar to Tropico's Lou Bega would run a country like, this article will help you draw a clearer picture. Enjoy muchachos!

The arrival scene described reminds me of Papa Doc Duvalier. Sweet Micky has better get some humility rather quickly or he'll share the fate of Baby Doc. In the poorest country in the world that is recovering from a nation-destroying disaster, this is no time to put on airs.

The Haitian people have had a taste of freedom, and they won't tolerate much of this IMHO.

Lou Bega was a real person and the makers of Tropico got his permission. Other celebrities have become politicians.

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

It is just curious, the reality near the fantasy. Lou Bega is the composser of Mambo Número 5. I wish for Haiti the best, really they need it.

But "Caribeno", It is too much work to try to write the letter "Ñ" with Alt+165 for Ñ and Alt+164 for ñ?

We don't use accent marks in English. Thus, people often neglect to put them on foreign words that should have them. Not because they're lazy, but because they don't think to. And very few people will notice or care, so...

A newspaper title in a video game would not have been typed, the graphics would have been assembled from texture tiles (though perhaps that whole paper is just one image, depends on how they programmed it).

On an internet forum, the previous issue of not noticing or caring still applies... and beyond that, most people aren't aware of the alt+### trick - not to mention that it can't be done without a numeric keypad, which a lot of laptops don't have. I don't have codes memorized but I do have a rich text document with all sorts of fancy characters in it that I just copy and paste them out of as I need them.

Also, capitals with tildes/accentos are not common or always deemed necessary. Yes, that song is stuck on my mind.
