I know many people are looking for growable farms so please post what you would like to see here. Also post any requests for rural ploppable lots.
I am trying to make smaller farms as are seen in Europe rather than the huge plains farms of the USA. However all requests will be considered.

I would still like to see wheat and hay fields. We have peanut farms in the south so that would be nice. More types of horse ranches would be nice too. Farms with the added streams or ponds. Country style stores would be a great addition also. Well, those are a few requests to get you started. I am sure I will add more later. Good luck and looking forward to your creations. 44.gif

Blackbeard: CSX lots will be updated by the CSX team eventually. If you would like to specify which ones you are most inteested in we may move them up the list9.gif

J.O. : I'll have to research your requests as I haven't a clue what sugar cane plantations and sugar mills look like being from the far North.

Have you seen the CSX GA - GrampaAl's Barley lot.
It has barley fields that will grow around it. Are those satisfactory to use as wheat fields? If so, we can provide you wheat field farms. If not, we will need a texture maker to make us a 1x1 wheat field. We also may need a row of what prop.

Anyone interested in this small project? Any texture makers out there. How about Gshmails? I know they can do it.

The Barley lot is absolutely beautiful, but, IMHO (and I do mean humble and I hope not to get boo'd off this board}, I for one would like to see a few more true to life working farms and ranches. That is not to many non-necessary aminities and less green (landscape costs water). Wheat (or call it grain),alfalfa, cotton, sugar beets. How about a cow-calf or sheep-lambing operation in a hilly terrain (can it be done someone did do a park or trees on a slop). I am rambling and just throwing out ideas to see if one of them will stick. I am very happly with what everybody has done and am for sure not complaining. You go guys!

Some really good requests. I haven't made a request yet, but, I was thinking that it would be nice to see some hayfields incorporated into some of the farms. You know the big round bales. Also some more farm equipment. Like balers, cornpickers, etc.

Like someone mentioned above, I'd also like to see some wheat fields. I know in the midwestern portion of the United States, there are miles and miles of wheat fields.

I'm finally back. Had a computer problem. 26.gif

Now, are you the only people making growable farms now?

I have not seen any for a while.

I would like to request LARGER farms. Spacious and with buildings that you might see when driving across the plains of central Canada, or North Central USA. 16.gif

Those are huge farms with fields that go for miles beyond the view if you will.

Some grain silos for location by the railroad tracks would be nice also.

Keep up the great work guys. 44.gif

Sugar beet processor (like Holly Sugar), Trucking company/hay haulers, a cotton gin (get rid of the cotton and throw in an olive or onion4.gif), feed mill, ag warehouses, Hay stacks (bales/rounds) Paper/pulp mill (talk about your pollution), plywood factory, timber ships, date farms, fishing fleet/docs, fish cannery. Coal and other mines.

Are you asking for more farms using the corn and barley fields or for a different type of field altogether?

I know exactly what you mean. It is Rapeseed and there are many fields here as well.
I'll have a look and see if there is a suitable texture.

Thank you. As you are English you will obviously like the half timbered buildings but I don't think our American cousins appreciate them as much9.gif
BTW it is actually Yellow Mustard Seed Rape and is used for cooking oil, I think. I'll try and make a farm for this later but it will be a while before it is on the STEX. We have a number of lots in the queue at the moment.

I'll have to ask a BATter to make the building for me then we can make a lot for you. After all you have done for the community this is the least we can do.

Seeing as it is getting around to that time of year, perhaps a christmas-tree farm/nursery may be something you'd like to do. I know there is already a great tree nursery lot, but if you are planning any holiday season-themed rural lots, this may be a good idea.

Rice paddies would be nice. Christmas tree farms wouuld be good around the holiday (although that is basically the tree farm). Maybe pears too? There are not a lot of livestock farms; perhaps sheep and goats... 37.gif

pmiller19574 is working on a rice farm. We are a bit stuck with animals as Maxis only provided a few and no sheep.
We'll see what we can do.

Hmmm! Some nice ideas. All ideas are good ones. We shall ask some of our BAT friends about making some Christmas trees, which I visualize as Balsam Pines. Need to be rather smaller than the large trees that come with the game. 6' to 8' high, no more, since we need to have them small enough to put into the living room.

Animals. There are a number of animal animations like Bear, Moose, Deer and some others. That could be fun to play with a bit more.

Hmmmm, if we are limited to the system animals, that does limit it somewhat.... How about a Chocolate Moose ranch? :)

You mean like Willy Wonkers Chocolate Factory. Hey I like that idea also.

We need to give poor Barby a rest now. She has not only made her own lots, but has either made or contributed to quite a few other BSC lots as well. In addition she is recovering from a nasty cold.

So let's all wish Barby well, and hope she has all her talents when she recovers.

how about some soybeans? There's alot of them grown for chicken feed (and edamame, if you have international tastes). What about taro (aka kalo) farms (aka loi, pronounced low-ee)? I think the farms we've seen thus far are superb. I'd love to see more in the way of livestock.
