Well, I guess it would depend on what your graphics settings were set to. As your city gets bigger, you might need to lower the graphics settings for a more smooth playing experience.

Let me know if your graphics settings are already low, then we've got another problem on our hands.

I think your PC is enough for play. My laptop config is : T2500 2.0 Ghz, 1Ghz Ram,VGA: ATI Radeon X1300, and i play well in Low graphics setting.

May be you crash by another problem.

By the way, are you Vietnamese? I'm too. I'm in Hanoi and a fan of Simcity and Cities XL :)

I have 512MB RAM and 256MB Video RAM. SC4 tends to run just fine even for me no matter what the population is. Except on large maps. And the game is crash happy even before I installed a whole bunch of plug-ins and add-ons. I play on mostly low graphic settings. Except for texture detail and shadows.

What I'd try doing is fiddling around with your other game settings. If you think graphics has something to do with it then try boosting them or changing your resolution. Your computer is certainly more than good enough to handle it.

Are you playing them on large city tiles? If so that could be part of the problem. That's most of the reason I usually only use medium or small tiles.

same problem i upgraded my 512mg to a hd 1gb Now i can run the game on medium and a fps is high

EDIT: from your comp stats you gave your ram seems to bee a little low... i think recommended for cxl 2011 is 3gb of ram

You might need a bit more RAM and/or a faster video card. When I used a 2GB RAM PC with an 8800GT, the game lagged to hell whenever I tried to play it (I still don't understand how I managed to enjoy CXL so much back then). Most of that lag vanished when I upgraded to a 4GB machine, and when I changed the 8800GT out for an ATI HD5770 a few months later, the remaining lag disappeared.

Hi all, i never played CXL 2009 because at the time i didn't have a computer that could run it. Now i have a better comuter that can play Napoleon Total war online in a 3v3 battle with medium to high settings but CXL 2011 lags after i reach around 35 to 40k population, i don't know why. I have lowered my settings as low as i can and still i get lag, can you run it say's my computer is fine with the performce hitting the far right.

Operating system: Windows 7 X64 bit

    CPU: Amd Athlon 2 X4 640

    Memory: 8GB's DDR3

GPU: GT220 1GB memory (latest drivers installed)

HHD: 500 GB's sata with around 116Gb's free space

DirectX version: 11 (see can you run it resaults for NTW picture bellow)

In fact here is a screenshot of the can you run it resaults.

Cities XL is badly optimised, for example: If you have a multi-core CPU, the game will only use one core. And during the Beta test, 1 hour later, the game had low FPS because it had leaks RAM memory... I don't now if you understand but, it's not your PC

I only can think of your RAM as being a problem, this game uses large amount of RAM, the last time i checked it used 1.3 GB of my system. IF you play for many hours continously the game take over all your free ram. Save and restart your game every hour to avoid this. Your graphic card and CPU are good enough to deal with this game. I play with mi laptop with is a lot less power tahn your PC and the game still playable. I run it at 1366x768 with 2xAA, Medium textures (with bump and specular maps), medium shadows 70% view distance for all items and it still playable, slow but playable. My video card is nVidia G103M 512mb, 4 GB RAM and a Dual Core 2.0 Gh CPU.

I have cities with more than 1.000.000 inhabitants and the game run at 14 fps. Very slow but still playable. Your PC should handle this game A LOT BETTER THAN MINE.

You are right. I have an AMD Phenom II X4 955, 4 GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6950 (the version with 2GB of RAM) and the game sometimes become very slow when you play in cities with more than one million inhabitants. Still, the performance difference is from heaven to earth if I compare it with my previous configuration (AMD 64 X2 5600+ and ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB).

HoChiMin: I would recommend you to buy a more powerful graphics card (to notice a real difference, at least a HD 4850/HD 5750/6750 with 1 GB of RAM (don't buy a vcard with only 512MB) or a GTS 250/GTS 450/GTX 550Ti) and another module of 2GB of RAM (to complete 4GB of RAM).
