This is my first City Journal, Unfortunately I have built up alot of it already, so this journal will focus new developments as well as redevelopments in my city. Fairview city is acutally comprised of different districts, Downtown, Fairview Park, Hillview Center, West Fairview, Fairview Beach, North Fairview Beach, North Beach, Industry Center, Industry Park, Tecnology Alley, and also the cities of Mountain View and Hermosa Beach. I will post screenshots soon showing all of these locations. I have not used any cheats, so far, but i have used many lots and BAT's. The current population is at about 165,000, and growing. More to come later!!!

    WELCOME TO FAIRVIEW COUNTY
Population: 180,000 (based on latest census)
    /idealbb/files/Fairview-10830324541.jpg

As you can see the county is made up of the Cities of Fairview City, Hermosa Beach, & Mountain View (denoted by the bigger type for their names)  The other areas are districts of these cities.  Development started around Industry Park and spread south into the modern day downtown, then west towards the coast and then north.  Now development is heading west, with Mountain View being the newest eastern development.

More screenshots to come I am in the process of coverting them.

I see you're using the Fairview region it is shipped with. Neat how you are using it. I tried to build a city there once, but the cities were too small, so I must congratulate on your patience. Keep it up!

This region is a fictional area in California.  It is located somwhere along the central coast between Montery and Santa Barbara.  I used the Fairview Region map that came with SC4.  I started work on this region in January, 2004 and I plan to eventually develop the entire map.

Here is a close up of Fairview Park:
    /idealbb/files/FairviewPark10410804988962.jpg
Fairview Park was developled with much open space in between houses to give the area a park-like appearance.  This area is located directly above Downtown.  Homes in this neighborhood are currently going for about $400,000.  Northwest from here is Hillview Center and Hillview:
    /idealbb/files/HillviewCenter10010789015861.jpg
This is one of the major bussiness districts and boast at having more highrises than even downtown.  UCFC (University of California at Fairview City) serves as the area's anchor and one of the leading insitutions of higher learning.  UCFC Meical Center just underwent a $50,000,000 expansion and serves as the area's finest medical center (not shown but located to the right of UCFC, picture will be posted later today)

Here is a close up of Hillview Center:
    /idealbb/files/HillviewCenter10410804987221.jpg
The two freeways are Intersate 14 and Interstate 614.

More pics to come later on today

    Thanks for all the comments!!!

Here are a few more screenshots:

    /idealbb/files/2FairviewPark10810834591871.jpg

Here is a screenshot of the new UCFC Medical Center:

    /idealbb/files/UCFCMEDCNTR1081083458973.jpg
This area was just recently redone.  The road in the middle of the picture (Hillview Boulevard) was realigned to curve around the new hospital and research center.  Landscaping was also added to beautify the area.

Here is the Fairview Heights Country Club and Fairview Regional Park and the UCFC Observatory:

    /idealbb/files/FairviewHts1081083459340.jpg

Lastly here is a transportation map of the region.

    /idealbb/files/TransportationMap1083460036.jpg
Untill I can label this map I will point out a few of the major throughfares.  The freeway running east/west is Interstate 14 Fairview Freeway, The half-loop freeway is Interstate 614 Ocean View Freeway.  This freeway was origianally planned to make a full loop, but the residents of Hermosa Beach opposed anymore freeway construction in their city.  It will eventually be extended into north beach and end on North Beach Boulevard.  The avenue that runs along the coast is Bayside Drive.  This is one of the longest roads in the county.  And there are pland to extend it even farther.

Lastly here is a picture of North Bay Village in Hermosa Beach:

    /idealbb/files/NorthBayVillage181075923838.jpg

The major intersection here is Bayside Drive and North Beach Boulevard.  This is the northern terminus of Bayside Drive.  This is one of the more trendy areas of the region.  The Ritz-Carlton Vista del Mar is located right above the tunnel on the top of the screenshot.

That is all for now, more pics soon!!!

    Thanks for all the comments!!!

A big thank you to the creative minds behind all of the BAT's and Lots.  I have used many of them and they have given the Fairview Metro Area a very nice look.  If you happen to see any of your creations in my screenshots consider a huge thank you from me as they have added another reason why we love SC4

    Welcome to Downtown Fairview City!!!

Downtown Fairview City is not a big place.  Most of the buildings are lowrise office buildings and shops.  There is a push to develop highrises and two projects have started the area's rebirth into a truly great place.
Downtown is laid out in a grid pattern.  The main commercial area is wedged between Fairview Boulevard and Hillview Boulevard.  All east/west streets are numbered with First Street being just above Bayside Drive.

    /idealbb/files/Downtown
The two newest additions to Downtown are the Embassy Suites Oceanveiw Hotel and the Fairview Hilton.  These projects are regarded as the stimuli to bring life back into downtown.  As you can see downtown is home to many people that live in the many apartament buildings.  The Fairview Area Transit Authority (FATA) yellow line serves as a speedy way into Fairview Park and Industry City as well as West Fairview.  The 614 Ocean View Freeway connects the area with the rest of the city.

Here is a closer look at the two newest hotels as well as city hall:

More pictures of Downtown to come later!!!

Great, I'm glad to see you're still working on this. I'm working on the Fairview region as well. I like seeing other people's take on the region, comparing and contrasting.

I like what you've done so far, looking forward to further updates.

Fairview doesn't have any large cities. That's why I don't use it. But I'm in my bigger is better phase, so I need big cities to have fun. Once I get to my pretty custom city phase I'll try to make something as nice looking Fairview. Good job man!

    Hello Everybody,

I apologize for not posting anything on this city for awhile, my computer finally gave up on me, and It took me awhile to get everything transferred to my new computer.  I have been working off and on on the Fairview region over the past year.  Population has more than tripled and is now hovering at about 450,000.  I have made drastic changes to most of the cities as I am in the stage of making the region look more realistic.  I have better connected each individual city and am now in the process of constructing an airport.  Again I apologize for not updating regularly.

Here is a Regional Map of Fairview, notice the all of the new Freeway construction that has taken place.  And development has finally spread across the river.  Most of the region is just about built up.

A tour of the Fairview Region - Part 1

    City of Fairview City

Uptown District, Fairview Park District,  Hillview Center District, and Monte Vista Corridor

Over the next few weeks the Fairview Regional Planning Association in conjuction with the cities of the Fairview Region will present a tour of the Fairview Region.  The first installment of this tour showcases Fairview City, focusing on the bustling Uptown and Hillview Districts, as well as historic Fairview Park, and the Monte Vista Corridor.  This area of Fairview City boasts a combined population of about 170,000 (according to latest census info.) and serves as the region's densest and most populous area.

The Monte Vista Corridor is situatied on Monte Vista Boulevard, a busy regional artery that serves as the dividing line for north and south.  This is an important trasnportation coridor linking both Hillview Center and Uptown as well as Mountain View and the suburbs to the west.  Monte Vista Boulevard has recently undergone a revitilization, transforming this corrior into a great place to live and work.  The corridor is served not only by Monte Vista Boulevard, it is also served by one subway line, as well as the 314 and 614 Freeways and the Santina Expressway.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//FairviewPark.jpg align=baseline>

Fairview Park District was the first residential subdivision in Fairview City.  The Fairview Park district is anchored by the Fairview Park Village Square and shopping district.  Fairview Park boasts at offering its residents a country lifestyle right in middle of a bustling urban metropolis.  The area is served by two subway lines, and is bordered by Monte Vista Corridor to the north, the Santina Expreesway and Uptown to the east, and the 614 Ocean View freeway to the west.
