Recycling Center Question

Hey guys, I have what should be a simple question, but I haven't found the answer and was to lazy to experiment. I have one region that is a garbage city. Where do I build the recycling centers? Do I put them in the city where the trash is being produced or garbage city (or both). Can I reduce garbage by 25% in the Garbage city after I've already reduced it down in the initial city? Thanks for the help.

Put the recycling center in cities with residential populations of 15,000. If you have 30,000 you should have 2, 45,000 then 3, ect.

Go into your ordinances and set the trash presort requirement on cities that have recycle centers.

After a while you will be producing less garbage, so you should refresh your deals.

Businesses don't like the trash presort requirement, so you may see a drop in demand, or less new structures moving in. Start a new city and devote it to commercial demand to counter this.Businesses and industry don't need recycle centers.

Thanks, but that didn't really answer the question. I wanted to know if I could reduce garbage again by placing recycling centers in my dedicated garbage cities. Do I reduce waste coming in on neighbor deals?

Because you need the presort ordinance, you need the recycling centers to be collocated with the garbage makers.

If your garbage city is unpopulated, I expect no effect from presort centers there. You really will have to experiment.

recycling centers don't do anthing unless residents are there. The best way to reduce garbage in you garbage city is with incinerators. You are going to have high pollution, but if no one is there it doesn't really matter.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. I was skeptical that I would be able to reduce the garbage twice, but wanted confirmation.

Depending on your style of play you could try Black Hole Waste Management. I believe we have here on the STEX.

As for incinerators, there is a waste-to-energy one, that emits NO pollution. i can't remember the name of it, but it was released a few years ago. it will replace, in theory, the maxis w-t-e plant. try that option.
