Sim City 4 Deluxe & iMac Loading Issue

I have been playing Sim City for longer than I can even remember. I am on an iMac and recently during game play i changed the graphics to 800x600 and the next time i reloaded the game it lagged and ended up crashing. It has not loaded since. I tried to drag all of the files and folders associated with Sim City 4 Deluxe into the Trash, thinking I can just reinstall the game. This has not worked. I did keep the Plugins and Regions folders on my desktop, because these are a collection of years of play and like my blood.

Can anyone help me with this issue?? I have no idea what to do in this situation I just want to be back playing my cities again. This has stressed me out terribly.

Try starting up SC4 while holding down the option key, then modify the resolution and enable the "play in a window". Other than that, you could toss the com.aspyr.simcity4.plist from your Home Folder/Preferences.

So today the game and aspyr window came up for installation..however when i drag the folder to the hard drive like it says i get an error that says " The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “SC4 Rush Hour Handbuch” can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)"

Try starting up SC4 while holding down the option key, then modify the resolution and enable the "play in a window". Other than that, you could toss the com.aspyr.simcity4.plist from your Home Folder/Preferences.

It sounds like a corruption in the hard drive. I would recommend deleting the entire folder, then running Disk Utility, and checking the hard drive for errors and repair permissions. If there are errors on the hard drive, restart off of the OS Disc and run Disk Utility to repair the hard drive. Once that is done, if possible, reinstall SC4. If that doesn't work, try installing onto a thumb drive or external drive, and see if that works. This issue may have brought to light a hardware error that you otherwise would not have known about.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MACS WORK! but try installing it again you maybe are missing some game files
