Joelevan here. Long time reader; first time writer.

What about putting together CDs that contain the STEX stuff from various users. Call it the Simtropolis Presents... Series. For example Simtropolis Presents...SimGoober. The proceeds could go to Simtropolis. Now I have to say that I have a selfish reason for wanting this done...I lost my HD due to power failure and had to redownload ALL of the stuff from the STEX (i.e. everything done by SimGoober, DeadWood, Pegasus, etc.) You would of course need permission from the developers of the lots, BATs, whatever. Or don't offer it for sale. Just offer it as one of several CD you get to choose from when you donate $20.00.

Just a thought,

Joel

That would actually be a pretty good idea, as long as you do realize that we already offer CDs from the most popular items on the STEX.

If this could maybe be an addition, like you could have a selection of one CD every time you donate $20USD/CAD, then yeah; that's not a bad idea!

Good on ya, mayte. (Is that how Australians say it?) 18.gif

I like the idea! But we have to remember that whoever we present must have a large amount of stuff on the STEX like, yes, Simgoober or Equinox.

Or maybe we could have a whole CD dedicated to NDEX rather than just Equinox 18.gif that sounds better.

Finally! Got the Simtropolis CD! Unfortunately, i dont think it's compatable with european PC's. The autorun starts fine, but when i want to browse all the Lot and BAT files, my computer freezes up! I get a white background. Then when i eject the CD in frustration and impatience, a few files pop up half loaded. No picture files. 15.gif

My system should b ok. Windows xp home. I guess it's bcause its europe. Any solutions? Mayb if some1 could try to make a version 4 europe? Mayb make it so the prograsm loads a few files a t a time?

Other than that, i think this site is fantastic! I check in everyday to see what creations i find interestering 4 my cities!

Looks like a security problem.  The PNGBEHAVIOR.HTC enables MSIE to use transparent PNGs.  It is used on the current site rather extensively.  From what I can see, it looks like your browser or OS is denying access to the HTC file.  You should try to lower your security settings, and see if it works.

Give FireFox a try, too, as much as we tried to make it work perfectly for both major browsers, it turns out that Firefox performs almost flawlessly... 1.gif

Try to open in windows explorer and rip the files to the hd to a folder and see if it works instead of running from cd.
