Hello, i just recently bought a new computer and i think it will be great for BF2. I have 250GB, 1GB RAM, 256MB Radeon X700 Pro, and 3.01GH'z processor. I also dont want to waste my money on the game. If you have any knowledge about the game whatsoever could you tell me if i should buy it or not? I just want some opinions.

well usually if you're thinking of buying a game than trying a demo is a must. if you're still unsure then buy it from somewhere that allow returns but from what I hear it is an excellent game 44.gif

    IMHO, No.

I loved the game to death at first, it starts out incredibly fun. However, it loses its replayability so fast, it will almost seem liek you love it one day and hate it the next.

The reason is the maps. Most of the maps are so huge that you're always waiting for vehicles to drive to the other side. Wouldn't be too bad if teamwork existed, but most people will jump in an APC and race off with just them selves in it, then camp a spawnpoint for half the game until they die, after which they take the same apc again, because it spawns almost as instantly as they do.

There are only a couple maps I enjoyed, and I played them soo much they're boring now. Lookign at my profile, I think I have more time logged into one of my fave maps then every other map combined.

If you're looking for a good game, I'd get WoW. It's my first mmo I've ever played (I didn't agree with Pay to play), but I have no regrets at all. There is so much to do, you'll never get bored for a long time. I play with my friend, and been playing for a few weeks, level 30 now, and its so fun killign and questing. And if you get bored at that, you can go PvP hunting, and if that gets boring, go do your professions (mining, leather working, blacksmith, etc. Theres like 10 or so.) Not to mention every race has its own starting zone and if you ever get bored of say the horde, Theres a whole other set of quests/people on the alliance side.

A site called DontCap.com hosts BF2 games, and they are very strict about fair play.

Spawn camping and such will lead to instant banning. Maybe you should check it.

My friend let me try it last night on my computer and it looks amazing, the graphics are great, but it lagged quite a bit, and i tried to log-in onto multiplayer but that never worked out...you need a 5thousand dollar computer for that game to work smooth

Usually, I'm not one to press a point, but I think you need to be told that the game is AWESOME!! 9.gif

With your computer, BF2 would be a breeze. BF2 is simply mad, and not at all repetitive. As most old-timers here can probably deduce, I've been playing heaps since it came out and I've hardly visitted ST.

    BUY IT!! 44.gif

Yeah...Ive been distracted by Battlefield 2. I havnt found it repetitive, but sometimes it does get annoying if you get stuck w/out a vehicle. Great game though!

I run it on a laptop and It doesnt lag too much, it just takes forever to load......I could render a BAT faster!

not really. I went to a gaming place today with a few friends to try it out, and their computers are similar to yours, except the graphics card, which is a 6600GT, and it ran beautifully. Must be because nVidia pwns ATI.

Here's what I think of it:
Load times are annoying. Seemed like it would take 5 minutes to load each round. It didn't help that the game would crash randomly. And it crashed a lot.
The maps were quite nice at first, but got old extremely fast. The reason: size. Unless you were able to get a vehicle, you're pretty much going to be defending the base that life, unless you feel like walking to a base 500 metres away at 1.5 metres a second. Spawn killing got really annoying, also.

If I was in your position, I would buy Rome: Total War instead. Much better game, and $17 cheaper.
