    Dear Simtropolis users,

    Iv'e got a serious problem.

It's been a while ago that I played simcity 4,

and when I recently installed the game, I found myself stuck with many buildings that have missing textures,

I have the latest updates, and my nvidia card is 9800 Gt, so that's fine.

    Can anyone help me?

    Welcome to the conversation.

Could be a couple of things.  Try these:

In the control panel for your video card make sure that all extra options are set to 'application selected' or words to that effect.  SC4 doesn't understand any of this and will do strange things.

I have seen those color blocks before.  It was when the registry key for my video memory was wrong.   Check your video card's memory size and set it in the registry key HKCU->Direct3D->VideoMemorySize

This key is a string, make sure your change is a string.  It is the size in MB of the video memory.

Forget it.  That item has only to do with the wine emulator on Linux.  You won't find it in a regular windows system.

I hope the controls adjustments will fix your problems, if not, try to find out if the operating system has really recognized your video set up.
