Don't you just hate it when your home planet is destroyed? Yes we are a million years in the future from the year 2010 and the human race, or what's left of it has had to abandon the planet Earth due to the lack of breathable air. After thousands of billions of dollars of investment into operation 'Relocation' (well it's not a codename 3.gif), the first five hundred people arrive on their new home planet, Photos, only to find that it looks almost exactly like planet Earth did a mere million years ago.

Using basic technology that they brought with them, they test the air to make sure it's got enough oxygen to sustain a large population and what a surprise, it does! Having landed in the invisible spaceships shown in the picture above, the first thing the inhabitants do it to set up agriculture to provide enough food to live off.

Now that they have the strength from the food, bearing in mind they have had to live off dry food ration for the entire journey to this planet, they build the first main road which is to provide the backbone to the entire settlement which they named Artle. They also built a small bridge spanning the smallest width of the river that runs through the heart of the settlement. They decide to call the river 'The Great Orion', Brian Orion being the leader of the group.

And finally, after all the hard work of the humans first week on Photos, they set up the most important institution of all...

Hmm... Interesting concept! Could use some image editing (before you ask - GIMP, free, advanced, and handy) , but if the city is good that doesn't matter at all 2.gif.

Thanks, well the idea was, without me thinking of it, to improve the photos as the city grows larger and more established representing advances (or re advances) in the technology they can support. I just figured I'd do a slightly different concept to the rest of the CJ's out there 4.gif.

The second of the rescue ships has landed and as a result the population has doubled. Also this ship brings tools and equipment that allow the settlers to build mines and a logging firm which they decide to build on the other side of The Great Orion beyond the farms. In addition to this they use the power source from the second ship to build a utility centre to provide enough of the basic amenities to live in relative comfort.

    artleinduct1.jpg

As I mentioned earlier, they have set up a logging industry which has enabled the settlers to build themselves wooden and mortar based structures which they line up near the farms for convenience.

And of course, for the Leader, a special dwelling which is more suiting to his stature is constructed in the centre of the town where the rest of the settlers reside.

Finally the settlers have set up a small market in which they buy and sell the goods they need in this very free market economy which is within a minutes walking distance from the manor show above.

The new 500 humans also bring word that Don Madliff the 122nd and Omnicorp intend to flee Earth very soon and capitalise of this new dwelling of the human race.

Last night the settlers decided to have a party but sadly they did not take any photos, largely because they were not deemed appropriate for historical record.

However as you can see from the picture below, they manage to clean up remarkable quickly as the area behind the Leader's manor is completely clean and tidy.

Word has reached there there are masses of ships carrying thousands of people to make a new world and indeed a new life on the planet Photos. As a result the current settlers have been busy expanding the industry and have started resurrecting wind farms to support the electrical needs of the city.

    artleindywindfarm.jpg

But where there is industry there needs to be offices to support it and they have been rising thick and fast down what is rapidly becoming main street.

    artlehighstreet.jpg

In addition to this a whole new residential road has been constructed to fully support the number of current settlers which goes round the back of Main Street. But in between that road and Main Street there is a park where residents can go and relax in between all the work.

More updates to come soon! The population is currently one and half thousand people and is currently making around 7K profit. However with the influx of new people city services will soon be needed.
