Where is the authentication code (box LE version)

I bought the box version of CXL LE in a store when it first came out.  I installed the game and really enjoyed PO.  They ended PO and I was PO'd so I uninstalled the game and stopped playing.

Recently, I decided to give it another chance.  I reinstalled, and it asked for my authentication code.  The back of the booklet has a big white box for the authentication code, but it's blank!?!  Fortunately, I went to the CXL website and logged in and downloaded the patch and the game is working fine.  But I never did find that pesky authentication code.

Where is it? Is there any reason I need it?  Think it might be important for CXL 2011?

THANKS!

Well, sinse you're playing the game already, you might not need it. But it should be there.....

And I understand that if you plan on buying CXL 2011 you could get a 50% discount with the CD key. So, you might want to contact Focus Home Support about that.

I got a game once without a CD key. I contacted the company and they somehow helped me, so there's hope.

I've played a few online games with authentication codes, and it seems like they're often not where they're supposed to be (i.e. It says it's on the manual, but it's actually somewhere else).  I vaguely remember installing the game when it first came out and being amused and annoyed by the installation process as usual...but I figured it out.  Perhaps I can no longer figure out what I could a year ago?  Perhaps the ink faded, or the code was on packaging or something else I threw away?

Well zwr, I'm sorry but I can't help you. I've never had the box version of the game (I downloaded it directly from CXL site, and they gave me the CD key in an e-mail). If the installation process asks for it, there's not much you can do, but contact Focus Home and try to get a new CD key.

The manual says the code is on the back of the manual. It's probably supposed to be in the big blank white rectangle 3.gif

I sent an email to support at Focus Home.  They asked for my cxl2009 username, pw, and email.  I'll reply again when I get a response 2.gif

They sent you an email with your CD Key. I thought the same thing when i bought the limited edition last year and haven't had to re install it for a while. I look at the manual and theirs just a blank box? Then I remembered that they emailed all the pre-ordered limited edition copies there keys instead of writing them on there mauls. Try going through your email and look for Monte Cristo or Cities XL. Best of Luck!
