ENB Series Mod

Hey guys,

Recently I've been using an infamous graphics enhancement mod for games like Flight Simulator X and GTA4. I just recently tested it with Cities XL, and the results were great. With the mod, you can edit the config file to change the settings to get the best possible graphics you can, something for CXL modders and other graphic modders to mess around with. You can also use the palette to change the colour atmosphere (eg. Brownish palette makes it more dirty).

Using the settings I use for FSX, these are the results I got....

Obviously things can be changed here and there, and that's what you can do with the config file and the ENB palette.

Here's the download link to my ENB files - http://rapidshare.com/files/416928078/Asheroo_CXL_enbseries.zip.html

To install, unzip the files and place them in the "Program Files\Monte Cristo\Cities XL" folder, or whatever folder you installed Cities XL in. DO NOT put it in the Paks folder, this is not like most of the other mods.

To enable it (if it is not already enabled in the game), the default key is Shift+F12

Credit goes to the guys making the ENB series mod. More information on the mod and how to edit it here - http://enbdev.com/index_en.html

Important Notes!

- As you can see in my screenshots, due to the in-game CXL engine, pictures taken with the F11 key won't come out with the ENB mod effect

- To disable the palette, change UsePaletteTexture=1 to 0 under [ColorCorrection]. If you're editing the palette and you kind of stuff it up, you can download another one from the official site.

Enjoy editing and getting the best possible graphics out of the mod and Cities XL! 10.gif

How would I lower polygon resolution, increase anti-aliasing and increase the color level (like turning up the color setting on a television)? I want to make cartoon pictures like I saw in the "Show me your Cities" thread.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

There is a guide under the Documentation section of the site, explaining the different settings you can change. I don't think you can make it that cartoony though. Not sure about polygon resolution and anti-aliasing, but colour levels you can change. I'm not exactly sure what to change, I'm no expert with the mod (with other games, I just combine the best of other users' settings and then tweak a few little things here and there for a little more what I'm trying to make.

Wow great Asheroo, but does it slow down your game at any time?

There's no change in the FPS at all, at least not for me and with others using it for other games.
