A long time ago I downloaded a god mod patch to plant large amounts of rainforest. However, it didn't do the job well enough, but I neglected to delete it. I need the file name so I can delete it, as it is lost somwhere in my 1.2 gig of downloads, and heavy searching has failed to find it...

You could look in the STEX for your lot and find it, you can download it, expand it into another directory, and you will then have the file names.

I recommend keeping a separate download directory with a sub-folder for each source.  If necessary, you can archive this to a CD or DVD, but you should keep them as long as you have them installed.  If you keep enough information in your archive, you will never have this problem again.

This happens to me all the time. A few weeks ago my plugins folder was up to 5GB with over 12,000 files. Now I'm down to 3GB and just above 7,000 files. I too ran into this problem many many times while trying to clean out the trash from my plugins folder, not to mention reorganize it. The easist way for me was to just use windows search. I don't know what kind of OS your using but with Windows 7 and Vista you can type whatever into the search bar at the top right corner of the folder window and it will search that directory. For the ones whos name I didn't know you have to go with the obvious. If it is a God mod patch, try searching patch and god individualy and see what pops up. If it has to do specifically with rainforests, try searching rainforest. Or as A Noony Moose said, simply search the STEX until you find it. Download it to your destop, open it up and see what the file name is and then go from there.

    Hope this helps!
