Stand alone horse props..can this be made?

Does anyone know where I can get stand alone horse props with effects? Can anyone make them if there are none available? I would really love this if it could happen. Thanks.

Like the horses that appear when you place fauna in God Mode?

These haven't really been manipulated or explored yet. Not to burst your bubble, but that sort of thing takes a backseat to pathfinding, new transit lots, and BAT.

I would like to do some modding, but I can't really find the most basic information, like what types of files reside in each dat.

Luckily, the horses are full-fledged 3d, so not only can we extract them to props, we can have them do things. Maxis didn't really make the movement perfect, so we have horses galloping diagonally while facing forwards. Perhaps we can fix this. If we can get them to follow paths in some way or another, we can make racetracks, horse farms, stables, you name it.

Horse props, with effects? Well there's already one of those in the game's files, which can also be seen in the Lot Editor under the Props section.

C'mon Tropod.....lol .... I know the LE like the insides of my pocket, never seen a stand alone horse prop there!

 

A stand alone Cow-prop would be nice too!

Maybe I've misunderstood then, but I would've thought the Effect_farmhorse Prop in the LE would cover what the original poster was asking, as it is a horse prop with effects, least that's the way I see it.

Yes there is the farmhorse effect prop and I tried it. When I tested it in game, I ended up with horses spawning everywhere and there was probably 50 of them if not more. It wasn't a pretty site...lol. I just wanted maybe 3 or 4 in a pasture. The CSX Dodge Ranch doesn't seem to do that in game so I figured there was stand alone horse props but to my saddness there is not. IF anyone would be interested in trying to make stand alone horse and cow props, I would be forever grateful.

Well, try this and see if it's any good.

Place the unzipped file in the Plugins folder.

Then start up Lot Editor [chose a lot etc], click the Prop button and type in either Horse_Prop or Cow_Prop and you should be able to find them.

Ok, I should of mentioned this, just in case.

 

If you intend on releasing any custom made lots with this, others will also need the Farmanimalprops file, otherwise those nasty brown boxes will show.

About the props...I don't know if it's possible to use 3d horses from other 3d programms.for example Poser 3d. There's a great amount of different horses in different poses
