Welcome to my first Cities XL CJ; Sinopolis (which by the way, is in no way affliated to the name of this website, its a total coincidence).

First off, I'd just like to say that I know these shots aren't really that great, but at the current population its hard to make some amazing shots. But I hope it will give you a good outlook for whats to come in the future; and I plan on updating and reworking this city (and of course, this CJ) until I've finished with it (probably around 4-5 million population, a long way away). Also, please be nice, Its my first CJ and I know they would never look as good as Asheroo's, jazyje's and skimbo's, for example.

But without further ado, here's my first Cities XL CJ; Sinopolis.

    Introduction.

Hello! And welcome to our small town of Sinopolis, founded 1997. It is situated in Wisconsin, USA. The small village began rapid expansion in 2007, mostly due to emigration from Veriton Bay (my other city) because of overpopulation, which currently stands at 4.8 million. Since then, the small village has expanded and began to industrialise.

The mayor of this city decided upon the area in which city hall (and therefore the original inhabited areas) would be held a long time ago, and as a consequence of this; the oil that has been discovered covers around a third of the current inhabited areas in the town. The extraction of this oil is taking place between the gaps, and so unfortunately, a minority of the unskilled workers have had to live in houses which are quite litterally opposite oil rigs.

However, the Mayor has since introduced schemes which have greatly reduced the negative effects, which include adding greenery to every square inch of the city possible, and adding parks to make the air fresher and their lives more pleasent. He has also tried to make it up to his citizens by giving them all very high satisfaction rates, keeping employment consistently at 100%, and keeping income taxes to the bare minimum, whilst at the same time, allowing the city to have a high budget surplus (in comparison to the size of the city), which will later be used to improve public services such as education and infrastructure. This budget surplus comes as a result of the high employment rate and exports of food and fuel, and the town being self-suffcient in that it does not need to import anything.

The city's infrastructure is one that seems to have moved away from typical grid-like structure, and has moved toward a more free and ambient one.

Anyway, here are some typical shots from downtown:

Of course now we have the necessities.

The Mayor ensures that traffic in the town is always good, evident from the following shot:

A very nice start -- Sinopolis looks like it can expand very rapidly given its location + access to major highways!

It was an excellent start! ( Just ignore Jazye he needs to get some pills ) I love how you write such a good introduction. The update was a bit long, yes, but not too long. Next time just pick out some of your best shots and put them in, then the update would be very good. Hope you understand my tip! 9.gif

It's a good start. And small doesn't equal bad. We already have dozens of megacities on here; there's plenty of room for a small town.
