I've got a nice city going with NAM May 2010, no other mods.

I've read a little about lot sizes but don't fully understand how they work. I want to make sure as I lay out my high density commercial and residential districts that I use correct lot sizes for getting skyscrapers. I'd love it if someone can help explain a little more, especially biggest lot size and most common ones for larger buildings.

I usually build with (high residential and commercial) but I use 4x4 - 4x5 (dependes on really, the demand level)

It depends on what you want to grow...If you downloaded some of the skyscrapers(both residential and commercial) from the STEX check out their lot size!some of them are very huge(like 5x21 for Park Central by HKABT)and obviously if you don't zone such a big area they won't grow...4x4 or 4x5 is a great zoning anyway...many commercial and residential skyscrapers need that size to grow

I zone 6x6 -- lets for the 4x6, 5x5 .. whatever you want.. then I can put in grass or plazas in any open spaces.. increasing the cap and all that good stuff.. I use road top transit stops so that frees up my lot spaces for growth.
